SEEING EYE TO EYE

SEEING EYE TO EYE

A few pages showing 83 drawings of eyes with brush and sepia ink from sketchbook #177 "The Inconsolable Calypso" 2010

I attended Cal State Fullerton for 2 semesters. One of CSUF art dept. best student was Larry Johnson, he carried an 11" by 14" black hard cover sketchbook that he let me look at, I was so impressed and the idea was so new to me that it inspired me to do the same. Today I have a collection of 253 books.

My book routine is like a series of various meditations, I can't wait for the Muse to get her act together, so I hold a pen or a brush in my hand above the page like a warrior ready for battle, restless to put something there where there was nothing before.
